Texas Alcoholic Beverage Code

The Texas Alcoholic Beverage Code is comprised of statutes created or amended by the Texas State Legislature which meets for 140 days during odd-numbered years. The Code posted on this page includes changes made by the 82nd Legislature, Regular Session and First Called Session, 2011. These changes are made in red.

TABC Administrative Rules

Administrative Rules are adopted by state agencies, after the public is provided notice and the opportunity for comment. Section 5.31 of the Alcoholic Beverage Code gives TABC the authority to "prescribe and publish rules necessary to carry out the provisions of this code." Title 16, Part 3 of the Texas Administrative Code is specifically related to the Alcoholic Beverage Commission.

Proposed rule changes are posted on this website as well as in the Texas Register published on the Secretary of State's website. You may view adopted changes to the TABC administrative rules on the Texas Register website. The rule book on our website is updated as changes are adopted.
