The Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) is the state agency that regulates all phases of the alcoholic beverage industry in Texas. The commission's duties include regulating the sale, taxation, importation, manufacturing, transport, and advertisement of alcoholic beverages.

TABC complies with state and federal laws related to providing access to individuals with disabilities and limited English proficiency and is committed to providing access to services, communications and participation in public meetings. History
When the 21st Amendment to the U.S. Constitution repealed Prohibition, the states took charge of regulating the alcoholic beverage industry. The Texas Legislature passed the Texas Liquor Control Act, creating the Texas Liquor Control Board in 1935. The agency was renamed the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission in 1970, and the Liquor Control Act was updated in 1977, becoming the Alcoholic Beverage Code.
