TABC Advisory – One Shot Tequila Recall

AUSTIN, TX - Federal authorities have notified the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission that three brands of distilled spirits distributed and sold into the Texas marketplace as "Tequila" products appear to be mislabeled. Under Title 27 of the Code of Federal Regulation, the contents of these three products may not be sold as "Tequila" within the United States.

The following brands were introduced into the Texas marketplace by Texas importer ABS Oneshot LP through their designated wholesaler, Smart Distributors, from November 2016 – June 2017:

  • Tres Pesos Tequila
  • Tequila Ardiente Pasion
  • Mariachi Tequila

The importer and distributor have voluntarily agreed to remove the three brands from the retail market. Additionally, removal of the product will not be considered a consignment sale by TABC.

Questions on the recall may be directed to TABC’s Audit Unit at (512) 206-3300.
